Alternate Dimensions Beyond the Mirror: Solving Linear Inequalities in One Variable
What happens when you start to see strange signs that look like these, (>,<, ≥, ≤)? You start to wonder if you are reading the equations upside down, or if your brain just suddenly crashed. Don’t worry, you’re absolutely fine (unless your psychologist says otherwise). What this means is that there is is a certain point within this alternate reality where the balance between the two dimensions is no longer considered to be 100% equal to where you are.
If your reality suddenly shifted from a perfectly equal balance to (x - 5 > 8), your job is to try and find a way to simplify the inequality between worlds as much as possible so as not to destroy both realities altogether.
- x - 5 > 8 | To eliminate a possible threat to the reality, duplicate every action you do on both sides.
- x - 5 + 5 > 8 + 5 | You have now eliminated the threat by doing this as an attempt to balance both realities
- x > 13 | This is your answer. You now know that you (x), are in a dimension greater than (13) realities away from your original reality.
|NOTE| Remember that it is tradition to write the solution (x variable) to any inequality on the left side of the equation.
